Summer Flowers – June 2010 Garden Pictures – Andrea

in Denver Garden - Zone 5, The Edible Garden & Recipes, annuals, perennials, vegetables

Here are the garden pictures I’ve taken over the last three weeks. I have them uploaded to my Webshots account, which provides a way for me to embed them as a slideshow. There are 199 pictures. Yes…199.

These include not only flowers, but some current Topsy Turvy pictures as well.

The lilies are beginning to really pop. I planted a bunch more last fall. They add such nice height to the beds without a lot of mass.

Garden Roses for Colorado –

The shrub roses are providing some nice color right now. I have several varieties of the Knockout Roses – the original cherry red one, a couple of the double knockout roses in cherry red and a couple in bubblegum pink. I also have a David Austin rose in a pale pink that I transplanted from the backyard a few years ago. I wasn’t sure it was going to make it, but it’s putting on some flowers for me. My latest addition to my Knockout rose addiction is the Sunny Knockout Rose. Yellow roses that turn to pale cream quickly. I also have some miniature white roses that I brought over from my old house in 1996. Took 6 of them as cuttings, and 3 of them survived. They bloom small white flowers for months on end.

I’m also starting to see buds on my daylilies, which will all be in bloom next month…except for Happy Returns (already seeing some flowers).

Be sure to check out my post for the list of best flowers to plant in the Denver area, pictures included. :)

Your garden is lovely. I think that pink verbena and red valerian? are really cool. Those two dogs are most sweet too.
