in Landscape and Hardscape

Landscaping or shaping the landscape if you prefer signify any activity or process that changes the features of a portion of land in a observable way, such as living elements of fauna and flora, landforms, such as terrain elevation and shape or bodies of water, human elements, such as fences and structures, and abstract factors such as elements to somewhat control the lighting and /or weather conditions.

Landscaping consists of two phases: hardscaping and softscaping. Hardscape is always the first step you should take when landscaping your property. It’s the bones of the garden. Decks, patios, lighting, gazebos, arbors, raised beds, fences and walls, paths, etc. are all considered hardscaping. Most people want to rush right out and buy flowers and plants first, but that’s really the icing on the cake. If you want to make your landscape into something really enjoy, you should plan things out first.

The importance of mulching and landscaping

Landscaping is a highly aesthetic landscape art form that needs a quantity of practical knowledge having to do with plant knowledge, practical applications and operating with various tools. It was stated that the earliest landscaper was the Greek philosopher Thales of Miletus, who spent a great deal of time pondering the environment and various scopes of landscaping.

Before plunging head first into a landscape project, get to know your location first. Spend time seeing where the most sunny or shady spots are. See if there are areas prone to wetness or dryness more than others. Before you buy your first plant, know it’s sun and water requirements and plant them in a place they’ll thrive. If you don’t know where that place is in your landscape, you will end up killing the plants and wasting your money.

Where a lot of early landscapers argued that true landscaping alters plants or fields directly, such as in the actions of cultivation of food crops, Thales rejected this explanation of landscaping or shaping the landscape, arguing that any aspect of the physical world affecting a person’s visual perception of piece of land was a proper application of landscaping. Landscape and landscaping are all around us each and everyone of us.

Know your garden design preferences. Look to books and magazines and see what type of garden design makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. Do you like a tidy and neat garden? Are you more into minimalistic gardens – like zen gardens? What about color? Are you wild about bright colors? Considering how much it costs to put landscaping in, shouldn’t you know what feeling you’re going for first? Whatever you do, resist the urge to run to the nearest garden nursery and fill your basket with plants. Planning it out first will bring you the final results you’re looking for. Everyone can have their dream garden, and planning is the key.

Both Plato and Aristotle had nothing but praise for Thales philosophical modeling related to landscape and landscaping, as well as how his theories might be applied somewhere else in philosophical exploration. G.E. Moore also talked about Thales in many of his own philosophical works expressing how philosophical inquiry and discourse has led to the truest forms of human improvement and understanding.
