Events at Hudson Gardens in September 2010

I received my monthly newsletter from Hudson Gardens today and here is what’s happening for the month of September:

Garden Admission $1, September 1-30, 9 AM — 5 PM

Celebrate the gorgeous weather and enjoy the fall colors in The Gardens for $1 admission, all month long! Enjoy our spectacular fall colors, dramatic grasses in full splendor, the Dahlia Display Garden in full bloom, and trees showing off nature’s palette of changing hues.

Gift Shop Sale — 25% off all merchandise, September 1-30, 9 AM — 5 PM

It’s time for our Fall Sale! Stop by the Gift Shop at The Hudson Gardens from now until September 30th and enjoy 25% off of all Gift Shop merchandise.

The Hudson Gardens’ Gift Shop carries a large selection of garden-related gift items including books, stationery products, gardening tools, bird feeders, decorative gift ideas for the home, planters and children’s items. Don’t miss this great time of year at The Gardens; a delight for both your senses and your pocketbook!

Free Day, Saturday, September 11, 9 AM — 5 PM

Reflect, remember, reconnect. The Hudson Gardens opens to the community at no charge annually on Patriot Day.

Fall Container Workshop, Tuesday, September 21, 6 — 8 PM

Don’t leave your annual containers empty through the fall months! Learn how to use your imagination and creativity to create beautiful arrangements that combine flowers, branches, wood, and other organic elements that will reflect the spirit of autumn. Annie Huston, co-founder to Columbine Design, will introduce you to cold-hardy plants and techniques that can extend the life of your container planting through the cooler weather and freezing nights. Class includes a workshop wherein participants create their own fall arrangements. Please bring a garden pot (18″ in diameter or smaller) and soil—all plant material will be provided.

The class will be held at the Inn at Hudson Gardens. Cost is $40/person. Contact The Hudson Gardens’ Education Department at (303) 797-8565 ext. 306 to register.
