Now here’s a local garden event not to be missed – the Daylily Festival Open Garden and Daylily Sale. It’s in July of each year because why?… July is the month of daylilies. It’s their peak bloom time.

Daylilies and Roses - a great summer combination

What I love most about this event is the sheer volume of daylilies they have in their display gardens. Oh, and you get to see the newest cultivars in the daylily world. Several years ago I purchased a couple of double-flowered daylilies. Unusual for sure. These are quality plants grown right here in the Denver metro area.

They’ll even sell you a daylily not already potted up for sale if you contact them after the open garden. You know how sometimes you see something you just gotta have? How gracious of her to accommodate your daylily cravings.

Karen is a cat lover and a portion of the plant sales is donated to help homeless cats.

Her display garden is only open to the public on this very special day, so it’s a must to put on your calendar. Don’t forget – July 17th, 2010 from 8am to 4pm.

Location: 15643 East 35th Place • Aurora, CO  (Near I-70 & Chambers Road)

She doesn’t have a website, but here’s a link to her flyer, which includes a coupon for 1 free daylily with the purchase of 5. 2010 Cat Lady Flyer

The Cat Lady’s Garden is an AMERICAN HEMEROCALLIS SOCIETY DISPLAY GARDEN and is the only one in our state, let alone city.
